PC's toss one of their own under a bus!

Norm Sterling, a veteran Progressive Conservative MPP and former cabinet minister, has been bounced as an Ottawa-area candidate for his party in Ontario's fall election.

Norm Sterling, the long serving Progressive Conservative MPP and former cabinet minister, has been bounced as an Ottawa-area candidate for his party in Ontario's fall election.
Sterling, lost the nomination battle last night in the riding of Carleton-Mississippi Mills to Ontario Landowners Association activist Jack MacLaren. MacLaren had had the backing of Conservative MPP Randy Hillier, who is considered a renegade by some colleagues and has also been active in the landowners association that sometimes favoured radical means to push its agenda of rural and property rights.
While it's the party's policy to have an open nomination process even in ridings currently held by sitting MPP's, this is not a fair process in my mind. Just think for a second that if someone wanted to fight for the nomination in Hudak's riding and won, what would that mean to the party if the leader could not even hold onto his own riding.
The PC's like the other parties should change their policies to allow sitting MPP's to be acclaimed in their riding should they decided to run again. Talk about throwing one of your own under the bus.
Until next time!
